Here's a list of some of the most well-known characters in Harry Potter books.

Harry Potter: This wizard hero needs no introduction!

James Potter: Pure-blood wizard who marries Lily Evans. Alias: Prongs. Father of Harry.

Lily Evans: Muggle-born witch who marries James Potter. Mother of Harry.

Hermione Granger: Best friend of Harry & Ron

Ginny Weasley: Ron’s sister who loves Harry

Lucius Malfoy: Pure-blood aristocratic wizard. He served as a Death-Eater of Voldemort off and on. He is the father of Draco Malfoy.

Narcissa Black: Pure-blood witch who is the sister of Bellatix Lestrange and Andromeda Tonks. She marries Lucius Malfoy & is mother of Draco Malfoy.

Draco Malfoy: Harry’s enemy at Hogwarts.

Lord Voldemort: aliases include The Dark Lord and Tom Riddle. He is referred to as You-Know-Who by students of Hogwarts.

Albus Dumbledore: Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Rubeus Hagrid: Half-giant who teaches care-of-magical creatures at Hogwarts & is Harry’s friend.

Dolores Umbridge: Works for the Ministry of Magic; hates Harry & Dumbledore.

Professor Minverva McGonagall: Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts.

Severus Snape: Nasty Professor at Hogwarts.

Remus Lupin: A half-blood wizard & later werewolf, who was best friend of James Potter (Harry’s father), Sirius Black & Peter Pettigrew. Alias: Moony.
